Community colleges serve a diverse student population, including part-time students, working adults, and returning learners with family obligations. With several accrediting agencies now approving reduced-credit baccalaureate degrees, it is imperative that community colleges in states where they are authorized to confer these degrees develop academically rigorous, workforce-relevant programs that respond to today?s student needs.
At Yavapai College, the Business Faculty collaborated closely with industry partners, K?12 educators, and graduate programs to design a 92-credit, optimized Bachelor of Applied Science in Business. This program equips students with the general education foundation and essential business skills needed to succeed in the workforce ? all within a shorter timeframe and at significantly reduced cost compared to traditional baccalaureate pathways.
