Cheryl D. Calhoun, PhD, became President and Chief Executive Officer on July 1, 2026, bringing more than 30 years of leadership in community colleges and nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she served as Provost and Vice President of Instruction at Arapahoe Community College in Colorado, where she led academic and workforce strategy, instructional innovation, and institutional transformation to better align education with regional labor market needs and support career advancement for adult and working learners.
During her tenure at Santa Fe College in Florida, she advanced workforce-focused bachelor’s degrees that created accessible, high-impact career pathways and contributed to significant gains in student success, program growth, and institutional sustainability. A former faculty member, dean, entrepreneur, and nonprofit leader, Dr. Calhoun brings deep expertise in governance, innovation, workforce education, and community engagement.
She also serves as a leadership coach with Achieving the Dream, supporting colleges in strengthening student outcomes and institutional effectiveness. She holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction/Educational Technology from the University of Florida and an MBA in Decision and Information Science.
