Equitable Access and Outcomes, Evaluation: Evidence-Based Programs and Practices
Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) offers a transformative pathway for adult learners, underrepresented groups, and non-traditional learners to by recognizing their diverse experiences knowledge. This promising practice explores the powerful impact of PLA on advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in higher education. It focuses on how institutions can leverage PLA to create more access and opportunity as well as support CCBs by acknowledging the varied backgrounds of students. We also discuss the building blocks of a robust PLA process and attainable strategies for implementing a strong foundation for PLA to foster institutional effectiveness, inclusion, equity and student success.
