Dr. Angela Kersenbrock Announces Retirement from Community College Baccalaureate Association
Orlando, Fla. (December 7, 2025) — The Community College Baccalaureate Association (CCBA) announces the retirement of President Dr. Angela Kersenbrock, effective June 30, 2026, marking the conclusion of a transformative seven-year tenure that resulted in unprecedented membership growth, enhanced national influence, and improved organizational stability.
Dr. Kersenbrock has led CCBA since June 2018, guiding the organization from a small operation into a thriving national association that now stands as the recognized voice for community college baccalaureate (CCB) programs across the United States.
Under her leadership, CCBA has:
- grown from 24 institutional members to more than 220,
- established critical grant and partnership funding streams,
- launched a world-class member website featuring the only national program list,
- expanded research resources by establishing strong partnerships with the nation’s leading community college researchers including Dr. Debra Bragg, and
- enhanced professional services.
The organization has also strengthened its national advocacy role, amplifying the voices of underserved students, colleges, and states engaged in community college baccalaureate work.
“Angela is the reason the CCB movement is recognized at a national level,” CCBA Board Chair Dr. Joyce Hammer says. “The growth of the organization and partnerships she has developed will ensure both the sustainability and future influence of the organization. Without her expertise, guidance and wisdom, the organization would not be what it is today.”
Dr. Kersenbrock had more than 34 years of experience in higher education leadership when she accepted the president’s role and was initially hired part-time before expanding the position into a full-time commitment.
“Serving as president of CCBA has been the honor of my lifetime,” she said. “The mission and vision of this organization have always been worth the dedication it required.”
CCBA’s Board of Directors will begin a national search in January 2026.
