Congratulations to Texas community colleges! Gov. Greg Abbott recently signed House Bill 3348 into law to allow public community colleges to offer up to five baccalaureate degree programs. The landmark bill will allow the state’s community colleges to enhance their student reach and continue responding to growing industry needs by offering new degrees and academic programs.

Of this news, Tod Allen Farmer, President of Weatherford College, says “The recent authorization by Texas lawmakers to expand affordable bachelor’s degree programs at the community college level is a win for students, parents, tax payers, and the business community.  I applaud our lawmakers for expanding the educational opportunities of those who need affordable options to complete their education.”
